    Project Lead - Research and Development - Galois

     

    Position

    As a project lead for Galois, you have the opportunity to lead impactful and challenging computer science research projects. In this role, you will leverage your experience in guiding software projects to success. To guarantee the trustworthiness of systems where failure is unacceptable, we develop technologies in these areas:

    • cryptography
    • machine learning
    • human-computer interaction
    • cyber-physical systems
    • software correctness
    • computer security
    • mobile security

     

    Galois utilizes cutting-edge computer science and mathematics to make advances in software and hardware. Galois project teams involve multiple engineers/researchers and may include team members from academia, industry, and other government agencies. Project durations range from a few months to several years.

    Responsibilities of the Project Lead

    • Lead projects with Galois engineers, researchers, interns, and contractors.
    • Support the team in producing world-class results that delight our clients.
    • Plan all aspects of a project and deliver to negotiated results.
    • Mentor and nurture the team, and facilitate effective workflows.
    • Communicate project status, issues, and results to the client and as an internal advocate.
    • Collaborate with other project leads to address company-wide concerns.

    Qualifications of the Project Lead

    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
    • At least 5 years of diverse experience managing software development or research projects.
    • A passion for developing technology that works as intended.
    • Servant leader approach to managing.
    • Software development or computer science research background.

    Preferred

    • Experience in leadership positions.
    • Expertise in managing budgets for projects or organizations.
    • Expertise gained working on government projects.
